OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE PRAYER CARD
“Let not your heart be disturbed. Do not fear that sickness, nor any other sickness or anguish. Am I not here, who is your Mother? Are you not under my protection?” Our Lady of Guadalupe
In December of 1531, a man named Juan Diego was traveling to Mass when a lady appeared to him. Dressed as an Aztec princess, the Lady sent Juan Diego to the bishop to have a chapel built were she appeared. The Bishop declared to have a sign of proof of the Lady’s appearance. The Lady told Juan Diego to climb up the hill and gather roses to take to the Bishop as a sign. Since it was the middle of December, Juan Diego was in shock to see such beautiful flowers covering the hill, which was like a desert. He carried the roses in a tilma to the Bishop’s palace. When he opened the tilma in front of the Bishop, the roses fell to the floor and the image of a beautiful Lady was painted on the cloth.
Our Lady of Guadalupe’s message reminds us of God’s infinite love for all his children. She is the Patron Saint of the Americas and the Unborn.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us!
